FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Web Authoring (C30148)

Course Overview

This module is designed to enable the learner to acquire the skills necessary to establish, develop and maintain an interactive Web site. The learner will understand the principles and use of interactivity on the World Wide Web and the Internet.

Course Content

At the end of this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand one of the scripting languages that are used on the World Wide Web.
  • Design, construct and maintain interactive Web pages and Web sites.
  • Acquire the necessary skills and knowledge of design principles for supporting the building, testing and refining of Web pages.
  • Be familiar with HTML (hypertext marking language) tags and the use of HTML editors.

Assessment

In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete a project.

Award

Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Web Authoring.

Entry Requirements

Participants should have a Level 5 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences. Participants must also be confident in the use of a personal computer and used to tasks such as managing their files and folders, browsing the internet, adding attachments to their emails.

Duration

24 weeks, 2.5 hours per week.
