Manual & Computerised Accounting (B20001)
Course Overview
This twelve week course is designed for those who want to be able to use a computerised accounting package for both home finance and within a business environment. It will give participants an overview of the basic principles of manual accounting including double entry book-keeping, budgeting and profit and loss accounts. Once the basic principles have been understood participants will be instructed in the use of the accounting package TAS Books 2 until they are completely familiar and comfortable in using all key aspects of this accounting software.
Course Content
At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Set up a company’s accounts
- Enter and maintain all customers and suppliers accounts
- Enter bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations
- Generate a wide variety of accounting reports including a trial balance, a profit & loss, a VAT analysis and a balance sheet.
- Perform all the necessary accounting functions for a small business.
Assessment
In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete two projects and pass one exam.
Award
Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Manual and Computerised Accounts.
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a working knowledge of computers and a basic understanding of manual accounts.

12 weeks, 2.5 hours per week
