Certificate in Computerised Accounts (B30150)
Course Overview
The Level 6 Certificate in Computerised Accounts is designed to enable learner to produce the financial reports and manage the financial accounts of a small to medium organisation by operating a computerised accounts system using an integrated accounts package and being familiar with the production of reports such as budgets by means of spreadsheet software. The focus of the module is on the skills and knowledge required to enable the learner to produce accurate, current financial information which will be used for management and decision making purposes.
Course Content
At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Produce computerised financial reports
- Understand the nature and purpose of Control Procedures
- Appreciate the importance of accounting concepts, principles and standards
- Understand the regulatory framework which governs the accountants practice
- Interpret, comment and report on the results of a company
- Appreciate budgeting as an important business tool
Assessment
In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete one assignment, one skills demonstration and pass one exam.
Award
Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Computerised Accounts.
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a Level 5 Certificate in a Business related area and a strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices.
Duration
12 weeks, 2.5 hours per week.
