Certificate in Care Skills (D20163)

Course Overview

The Certificate in Care Skills is designed to equip the learner with the skills and knowledge to care for clients in a safe and hygienic environment.

Course Content

Learners who successfully complete this module will:

  • Recognise the personal care needs of clients
  • Respond effectively to clients’ individual needs, with their involvement and use of choice
  • Acquire practical skills in the area of client personal care
  • Maintain a safe, healthy and hygienic environment for clients.

Assessment

In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete two assignments and one skills demonstration

Award

Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Care Skills.

Entry Requirements

Participants should have a Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

Duration

12 weeks, 2.5 hours per week
