Course Overview
The Certificate in Business Management is designed to enable the learner to gain an in depth understanding of the role and function of management in the business environment, and to develop effective management skills. It is suited to those people who are currently in management positions and are wishing to improve their understanding of the role of management and their overall skill set, or for those who are looking to improve their employment options through the achievement of a genuine and practical qualification in this challenging and rewarding field.
Course Content
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Appreciate and explain the role of the management function.
- Analyse what skills are required in order for effective management to be achieved.
- Explain how organisations can adapt to changing environments.
- Develop systems in order to improve communication within an organisation.
- Assess what skills they must develop to improve their management ability.
Assessment
In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete two assignments and one project.
Award
Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Business Management.
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experience.
Duration
12 weeks, 2.5 hours per week.
