Certificate in Business Administration (B20005)
Course Overview
The Certificate in Business Administration is designed to provide learners with a general understanding of the main elements of administration tasks that impact on business. Learners will gain a detailed understanding of the tasks which provide the basis for all administrative matters which affect a business, and the practical effect that these administrative matters have on the day to day operations of a business. It is designed for those who are seeking a junior administrative position in an organisation or further study in this field.
Course Content
At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Understand the structure of an organisation and the financial aspects of business administration
- Appreciate the impact of the factors which affect a business organisation and the functions of human resources within it
- Undertake administrative duties in relation to meetings
- Process business documents (in relation to sales, purchases, stock control and insurance)
Assessment
In order to successfully complete the module participants will be required to complete two assignments and pass one exam.
Award
Upon successful completion of the module participants will be awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Business Administration.
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

12 weeks, 2.5 hours per week
